Thanks, Ozzie! Sorry – I’d already submitted about the fridge & freezer items Before I found your reply. So Any items remaining inside refrigerator or freezer Must be double-bagged with your bags.

As for windows, each room here only has 1, so will leave open at least 3″. Sliding glass door to patio can be closed and locked – yes, can be opened from inside unit, no key or pin needed.

Sorry, the trash/recycle collection, postal delivery and security are Not your issues. Will bring up with our HOA here.

How about still-sealed Never opened glass bottles of wine?
Double-bagged? or just okay sitting in opened cupboard like plastic water bottles and other glass still originally-sealed jars ?

  2. Kathryn Reesman

One more thing: window blinds, drapes, shutters? open, shut, raised, doesn’t matter?

    • Ozzie Camacho

Leaving blinds and drapes open would be helpful, but not an issue if they are shut.

    • Kathryn Reesman

Are food items stored in the freezer +/or refrigerator okay to leave inside there?
Or just still-originally sealed & Never opened packaged (plastic-inside-paper or just in plastic) items? example: boxed frozen entrees like Stouffer’s or Lean Cuisine, and ice cream
Unopened soda bottles, or just cans, or neither? Can those be ‘saved’ inside the Nylophin bags?)
Unopened plastic bottles of water, gallon of distilled water

      • Kathryn Reesman

Sorry – one more suggestion: I think people cleaning out their dry goods cupboards are likely to Forget TWO items most everyone has, though likely kept elsewhere: Salt & Pepper shakers!
May be helpful to mention those specifically as needing to be included in the double-bags.
Unopened plastic bottles of water – double-bagged. or not? Everything in fridge + freezer needs to be in double-bags, except ice (cubes, in tray OR in packaged plastic bag? Thanks, again 🙂

        • Ozzie Camacho

Thanks for the tip! You’re spot on that salt and pepper should be double bagged along with all other spices and condiments.

      • Ozzie Camacho

Hey Kathryn. Fridge and freezer items must also be double-bagged in Nylofume material. Anything boxed should be double-bagged as well as anything in plastic packaging. Unopened cans of soda or bottles can stay as is. Water and ice can also stay as is regardless of it’s container.

      • Kathryn

        Hi Ozzie,
Please reply: Need to be (double)-bagged or OK to just remain:
        Still-sealed w cork & wrap Never-opened glass wine bottles ?
Still-sealed, Never opened Plastic bottles of water; 8 oz, 16 oz, gallon ?

        • Ozzie Camacho

Hey Kathryn. All items you mentioned are OK to just remain as is.

    1) How should we leave inside our units:
Windows – fully open? somewhat open? nearly shut? fully shut?
Sliding door to balcony/patio – fully open? open a bit? closed, but not locked? closed And locked?

    2) in Garage: storage units, locked or unlocked?

    3) in Refridgerator: unopened, still sealed items okay Not in double-bags? Same for items in freezer?
(if ice/cubes are okay, and electricity is to remain ON … ?)

    4) Our sanitation collection is Tuesday morning, BUT most days the bins are not returned into the garage until mid-afternoon, even as late as 4pm. Will that be an issue? pre-arrange early return for 10/1 ?
They cannot remain on the street (also take up area for your vehicles, equipment) for 3 days

    5) Mail/Deliveries: will the USPS be notified in advance to NOT deliver to our building those 3 days?

    • Ozzie Camacho

      Hi Kathryn.
      1. We suggest leaving windows closed. Crews will need one window per room to be open a minimum of 3 inches. They can open what they need when they arrive if not already done so. Sliding glass doors should remain closed and locked as long as they are accessible from within the living space.
      2. Storage units/compartments must remain unlocked and accessible.
      3. All fridge and freezer items must be removed or double-bagged using only Nylofume material. Electricity will stay on. Ice is okay to leave as is.
      4. If you can arrange trash pickup a day early, that would be ideal. Regardless, this will not be an issue.
      5. We do not notify USPS to hold mail. Most residents don’t ask them to hold mail, but you are welcome to do so at your discretion.
