I found a small metal object (looks like 1/2 paper clip) pushed into the lock of the second door to my unit (access from the driveway) at 460 Camino Del Mar.
Did your staff put it there? Or should I be concerned that someone was trying to open my door without the key? I took a picture but can’t include it in this portal. Thank you
Hi Phylis. That was likely one of the inspectors to disable the keyhole during the fumigation and may have forgotten to remove it. We apologize for that. We can have someone come out to remove it for you or you can easily pull it with a pair of pliers.
It would be nice if you would inform us about the delay today
Arrived at 12:30 and it’s not ready for us to get in for 2 hrs
Hi Kristina. We apologize for this. It seems there was miscommunication between dispatch and the crews on site. We will have a supervisor look into this so it doesn’t happen again.
I spoke with SDGE guy this morning – as long as door is open and they can enter your unit we do not have to be inside.
As I am not comfortable to stay inside right after fumigation. I will leave my door unlocked for them to enter
This topic has been bizarrely (and unnecessarily) confusing! From what I’ve understood, Accurate will leave the doors locked and the key inside the units when their techs leave… but owners will have to return (by 12pm) and open their units with a second key (or key code if they have an smartlock) for the SDGE techs… and will either have to A) leave their unit unlocked and unattended or B) have to wait around until at late as 6pm or whenever the SDGE tech gets to their unit.
Do I have all of that right? Is this your understanding as well?
Hi Ozzie,
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Phyllis and I have received different statements on SDGE:
„ SDGE is being scheduled on your behalf so you don’t have to do anything. We will ensure gas techs have proper access to restore your meters so that you don’t have to stick around waiting for them.“
„ Yes, someone will need to be home to give access to gas company techs.“
I kindly ask to clarify!
Regards
Parviz
Hi Parviz. Thanks for pointing that out. I made a mistake, you are scheduled to return home at 12pm to wait for SDGE. However, the appointment has already been made. All you would have to do is be there between 12pm and 6pm. I apologize for the confusion.
Hi Ozzie, I read above questions and responses re SDEG return, and looks like your responses contradict:
1. Hey Phyllis. Yes, someone will need to be home to give access to gas company techs.
2. SDGE is being scheduled on your behalf so you don’t have to do anything. We will ensure gas techs have proper access to restore your meters so that you don’t have to stick around waiting for them.
SO which is true?
Hey Kristina. Thanks for pointing that out. I made a mistake, you are scheduled to return home at 12pm to wait for SDGE. However, the appointment has already been made. All you would have to do is be there between 12pm and 6pm. I apologize for the confusion.
Hi Accurate,
After reviewing the checklist (CL) and watching the video or “online webinar” I have the following questions:
1. CL point 5: “[…]. Mattresses in plastic ZIP covers needed to be unzipped, the same holds true for garment bags. […]” —-> Are you talking about garment bags for clothes or bags for mattresses? Do we have to unzip garment bags for e.g. dresses, suits or sport coats?
2. General Question in this context: Is it OK to bag clothes or any other personal items in Nylofume bags (like food or medecine) or non-Nylofume bags?
3. SDG&E —-> Please confirm that Accurate has scheduled gas shut off and restore (tenant or homeowner of apartment is not responsible to schedule gas turn off & on). Moreover, please confirm that tenant or homeowner of apartment has NOT to “stick around to wait for the gas company” from 12pm – 6pm on return day (11/22).
4. “Key will be left by the stove” —-> How is it possible to leave the key INSIDE of the apartment, lock the door (only access to apartment) and leave the apartment?

Hi Parviz. You are correct. Garment bags and mattress covers are best to be left unzipped, but they don’t have to come all the way off. We don’t recommend bagging clothes in normal plastic bags as it could cause pockets of trapped gas delaying ventilation. The nylofume bags are intended for edible items only. Such as food, medicine, supplements, etc. Fabrics, clothes, linen, etc do not have to be double bagged or removed as they are not edible. SDGE is being scheduled on your behalf so you don’t have to do anything. We will ensure gas techs have proper access to restore your meters so that you don’t have to stick around waiting for them. At the end of the fumigation, we will use the twist lock on your doorknob to lock ourselves out while leaving the key inside. If your door is deadbolt only, we will lock the door with your key and push it through the threshold of the door so we no longer have access.
Do we need to be available on Friday 11/22 (12-6) to give SDGE access to our unit to turn gas back on?
Hey Phyllis. Yes, someone will need to be home to give access to gas company techs.
The answers to the growing number of questions about SDGE / gas company techs seem to be directly contradictory. Even in the same thread I’m replying to here, the answer provided to Parviz seems to be the EXACT opposite of the answer provided to Phyllis. So, which one is it? Do individual residents need to be available to give SDGE tech access to their unit at the end of the fumigation (and thus wait around from 12-6pm or whenever the tech arrives), or not?
Hi John. Some of our previous caused a bit of confusion for some neighbors. For that we apologize. You are scheduled to return home at 12pm on the 22nd to wait for SDGE techs to turn your meter on. They will need access into the home for their safety inspections. They will not turn your meter on if no one is home to let them in.
Alternatively, you can call them and share your lockbox code with them if you have one. They can then restore your gas service in your absence. You can also call to reschedule the appointment for a time that works for you if you prefer to be present during their inspections. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience we may have caused. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
