Double checking, can plants be left on outdoor patios?
Correct. However, please be aware that plants in patios and balconies will also be encompassed within the tent. If you wish to remove plants, the far side of the pool area is the best place.
Hi! I recall a comment about having a safe and leaving the door open. What needs to happen in order to maintain the door being closed. As keeping it open is not an option. There is nothing inside of it that is perishable or will prevent the fumigation from being done
Hey Joey. For safe inspections, you can empty it out and leave it open as you leave the home. That eliminates the need for a safe inspection. However, if you wish to leave it locked up you would have to stick around on the morning of the fumigation to have a rep take a quick look of the contents of your safe. Once completed, you can then lock the safe up. Please just let us know what you prefer to do but emailing us at fumigations@accuratetermitecontrol.com.
Apologies if this was covered in the webinar but regarding items to be bags, do we need to bag opened items such as advil or any bathroom items? What is the easiest rule of thumb for what to bag any what not to. I understand anything factory sealed is ok though beyond that, what should we do.
Hey Joey. Medication in any form should be removed or double bagged. Regular hygiene/cosmetic products such as lotions and toothpaste can stay as is. The easiest rule of thumb to follow is if the item is ingestible, injectable, or inhaleable you should remove it or double bag it.
Hi, quick question regarding getting the apartment key to your team and retrieving it. What is the best way of leaving a key behind, and how do you plan on getting the copy back to us? The communications so far state you will leave it in the apartments after the job is finished, does that mean doors will be left unlocked?
Hey Jules. Keys will be collected on the morning of the fumigation. Three options are listed below.
Lockbox (recommended)- For your convenience, you can leave your key in a lockbox and send us the code. Your key will be returned to the same lockbox after the fumigation.
Door Code- Electronic deadbolts and locks are also okay if we have the code in advance. Please be aware that they will be disabled during the fumigation process for safety reasons. The doors will remain locked regardless.
Under the Mat—You’re welcome to leave a spare key under the mat on the morning of the fumigation. Once the fumigation is completed, this key will be locked inside the home, which is why we are asking for a spare one. Please leave only the key. Keychains, bags, lanyards, etc., are not necessary.
Bonus option- You can leave your key in an envelope labeled with your unit number and drop it off in the lobby office mail slot. If you opt for this option, your key will be locked inside the home, which is why we are asking for a spare one. Please leave only the key. Keychains, bags, lanyards, etc., are not necessary.
Great thank you for clarifying! And one last question regarding vehicles. It states all vehicles need to remain unlocked if they remain on site. As for motorcycles, anything need to be done in order for them to be properly left in the garage?
Hi Jules. Motorcycles can stay as is assuming that there aren’t any large saddlebags. If so, please just leave them unlocked. Otherwise they can stay as is.
Hi Ozzie, I know this was covered in the webinar, but I forgot the answer. I have personal items, non-edible, stored in cardboard boxes and hard plastic boxes. May I leave them as is or do I need to open them? Thanks in advance!
Hey Teresa. If the items are non-edible, it’s okay to leave them as is.
I would like to clarify about factory-sealed PLASTIC jars and containers. It sounds like they have to be removed, because they’re not glass. Is that correct?
Hey Carlo. Factory seal hard plastic containers are okay to leave as is. However, any malleable plastic packages such as for beef jerky must be removed or double bagged.
The form asks to choose between using a lock box, providing the door lock code, or leaving the key.
I chose leaving the code but since the door is electronic and relies on batteries, I wanted to provide my key as well. There was no place to type that so I added a comment after my code. I am wondering if that is ok?
Hey Michael. No problem. For that we will have to update our notes manually. Please just send us a note in a private message to our email fumigations@accuratetermitecontrol.com and we will be sure to include that information.
Did you say unopened Gatorade can be left in fridge and not bagged?
Hey Robin. As long as it remains factory sealed, hard plastic gatorade bottles can stay as is.
Correct. Hard plastic Gatorade bottles that have never been opened are okay to leave.
When are you dropping off the bags at 8530 Holloway drive? Can it be done today, Monday? Some of us will be out of town as of tomorrow and don’t want the bags sitting outside the apartments.
Hi Judy. Bags will be dropped of this coming weekend. We can’t unfortunately make deliveries on such short notice since we have to prepare bags for such a large community and schedule a technician in advance to deliver them. The bags will be left at each unit doorstep and not at the community entrance.
When will the double bags be delivered?
What is the earliest and latest I would be able to change to leaving the key to my unit in the lobby office mail slot? I am currently enrolled in using my door code. I am not at the unit so I wanted to see whether it was reasonable for me to drive there 5/14, etc.
Will someone have to be in the unit to get my gas turned on after the fumigation? If so, I would have to make an appointment with them or ask one of my neighbors.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Michael. The latest you can leave your key in the lobby office mail slot is 7am on the morning of the 15th. Bags will be delivered to your doorstep this coming weekend. The main thing to prepare within the home would be to ensure that all food is either removed or double bagged and that all spaces within the home are unlocked. If those things are already taken care of, there would be no need for you to drive over on the 14th. You do not have to be present for the gas company on the 18th.
