Is there a scheduled time for SDGE to turn our gas back on Thursday? Or do you have to be at home the entire time between 2-6pm?

If we need to schedule ourselves, will SDGE charge us?

Hey Ally. You might now have to wait for them all. It’s very possible that you can return as late as you’d like due to the units not having any gas appliances. Once we can confirm that with SDGE, we will send out an email to everyone.

In regard to ‘providing access to gas company technicians from 2pm to 6pm for service restoration’, what gas do they need to turn back on? From the webinar is sounded like it might just be for the pool / hot tub. Trying to figure out if I actually need to be there.

Hey Erika. You are correct. We confirmed with SDGE this morning that you may not have to wait for them. You can return home as late as you’d like. We will send out an email once we get final confirmations.

Hey Erika. Your return time is still 2pm to allow crews to clear out prior to your arrival. However you do not have to wait for SDGE. You can return as late as you prefer.

Hi Ozzie. Will carpeted floors get dirty from the process? Thx, Chris

Hey Chris. It’s unlikely, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to leave a small supply of shoe covers and a big note that says “PLEASE USE SHOW COVERS” taped to the front door.

“All exterior doors (including water heater cabinets) on the building being fumigated, must be able to be locked“

We have tiny storage rooms on our patios, most of which have no locks. Is this a problem?

    Reply
    • Ozzie Camacho

Hey Mike. That won’t be a problem. Crews are equipped with secondary locks to temporarily use on those doors.

You mentioned the chemical Vikane (Sulfuryl Fluoride), but you didn’t talk about the other chemical used, Chloropicrin. What are the health concerns with that chemical? Why was it not addressed and Vikane was?

    • Ozzie Camacho

Hello. You may have missed it, but we briefly covered it. Chloropicrin has the potential to cause irritation. It is intended to be used as a warning agent and is non deadly in when properly used by trained professionals. The dosages used are calculated to ensure that full ventilation is achieved before releasing the building back to you and your neighbors.

Hello Ozzie: Aren’t all appliances & devices supposed to be turned off (ie fridge, microwave, computers, TV etc)?
Will cable & lighting connection wires housed in conduits that run across roofs be ok? Thx!

    • Ozzie Camacho

Hey Chris. Electrical appliances can stay plugged in and the fridge can stay on. Cables and lights that are directly against the building will be okay. However, hanging lights such as the ones you might have over the patio should be taken down.

Hey Patricia. You do not need to remove clothes and jewelry box, sofa, mattress, bedding, shoes, or handbags. The fridge and freezer will remain on and functional. Please just be sure to double bag all their contents using only the Nylofume bags we give you. No other bags are allowed to be used for food storage during fumigation. When you fill out your online form, there will be a space for you to include your key information.
